Kembrin, owned and operated by Kembrin LLC (“Kembrin,” “we,” “us”), helps you find gifts for the people in your life. This policy explains what information we collect when you use kembrin.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

You can use the Kembrin gift finder without creating an account or giving us any personal information. The choices you make while using it — who you're shopping for, their interests, occasion, and budget — stay in your browser for that session and are sent to our server only to generate your recommendations.

We also automatically collect limited technical information, including:

• Basic usage events (e.g. which step of the gift finder you reached, which recommendation you clicked) so we can tell whether the product is working and where people get stuck.
• Standard server and hosting logs (such as IP address, browser type, and device information), collected by our hosting provider for security and performance, not by us directly.

If you contact us directly (for example, by email), we'll have whatever information you choose to include in that message.

How we use information

• To generate gift recommendations during your session.
• To understand how people use the Site and improve it.
• To respond to questions or requests you send us.
• To keep the Site secure and working reliably.
• If you ask us to email you your picks, share a gift profile with someone, or sign up separately for updates, to send that email — every such email includes a one-click way to stop getting them.

We do not sell your personal information.

Affiliate links and third-party sites

Kembrin participates in affiliate marketing programs, including through Awin and individual retailer programs. This means some links on the Site are affiliate links: if you click one and make a purchase, Kembrin may earn a commission from the retailer, at no additional cost to you.

Kembrin is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, Kembrin earns from qualifying purchases.

When you click through to a retailer, you leave kembrin.com and become subject to that retailer's own privacy policy and terms. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, how third-party sites handle your information.

Cookies and similar technology

We use a small number of first-party cookies, plus advertising cookies from Meta and Google that tell us which of our ads brought you here and whether you went on to view a gift. They may combine that with other information they hold about you, under their own privacy policies. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don't load them at all, and you can also block them in your browser's settings.

• An anonymous id (no account required) that groups your interactions with the gift finder — which recommendation you clicked, for example — so we can tell whether it's working. Kept for up to a year.
• If you create an account, a session cookie that keeps you signed in. Kept for up to 30 days, or until you sign out.

We also use your browser's local storage to remember basic preferences and in-progress choices (like an unfinished gift search) during your visit.

Data retention and security

We keep the information described above only as long as needed for the purposes explained here. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Kembrin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

The gift finder itself doesn't require an account, so most visits leave no stored profile to access or delete. If you do create an account, you can permanently delete it — and every gift profile saved under it — any time from your account page, or by emailing us and we'll take care of it. You can also change the email address on your account from that same page.

If you've contacted us directly and want us to remove that correspondence, email us and we'll take care of it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above.
